About Me

My obsession with family history started back in the 80s and 90s. Growing up as a country kid, you had to get creative to entertain yourself. For me, that meant sitting with my grandparents and great-grandparents, hanging onto every word of their stories, and asking a million questions about what life was like back in the day.

Over the last 15 years, that childhood curiosity turned into a deep passion—and a massive skillset. I’ve become an expert at digging through old records, analyzing DNA matches, and hunting down the missing pieces of complex family puzzles.

I know exactly what it feels like to stare down a family mystery. On my own maternal side, my third great-grandfather was born Howard Duffy in Jay County, Indiana, in 1894. He was legally adopted by the Quillen family in 1904. Census records show his adoptive mother tragically lost three babies of her own, which likely led them to open their hearts to Howard. While they never kept his adoption a secret, we still don't know who his biological parents were. My great-grandmother, Becky Quillen, had a theory about his roots, and proving that theory is a mystery I'm still passionately chasing today!

These are the kinds of puzzles I love to solve. But for me, Sheana Harmon Genealogy LLC is about more than just data and old paperwork.

My professional background is actually in counseling. Because of that, I approach every project with deep empathy, strict confidentiality, and total respect for the emotional weight of what we might find.
